Site preparation needs a wise head. While the site was ideal for a new superstore, the hilly terrain and the area’s unique subsurface rock formation presented a few challenges to transform it into flat, usable land. Preparing the site and creating a flat pad was a huge challenge in itself. The drawings called for 5 feet of 12-inch rock, covered by a foot of larger rock and girders. Drainage requirements had to be in place too.
